AHK Greater China, along with the German Chamber of Commerce in China, proudly presented the second edition of the X-Days from 8-11 November in Shanghai, in collaboration with the Baoshan District People’s Government.
The X-Days 2023 brought together over 900 esteemed guests from politics, business, academia, and research. Inspirational speeches by Dr. Clas Neumann, Chairperson of the Board of German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai, Dr. Patricia Flor, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to China, Mr. Wu Ken, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Germany (via video address), Mr. Hua Yuan, Deputy Mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and Mr. Wan Gang, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, set the stage for an incredible first day.
Following the opening remarks, Dr. Martin Wansleben, Chief Executive of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), and Mr. Shi Mingde, President of the China-Germany Friendship Association, shared economic perspectives on Sino-German relations. This was followed by keynotes from industry leaders like Dr. Song Xiao, Siemens Global Executive Vice President, President and CEO Siemens Greater China, Mr. Li Bai’an, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group, Mr. Dowson Tong, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent, CEO of Cloud & Smart Industries Group, and Dr. Gu Hongdi, Vice Chairman and President of XPENG.
The second conference day featured lots of insightful keynotes and discussions on the future of innovation. Dr. Yang Hou, Chairman and CEO Greater China at Microsoft, set the stage with a thought-provoking address, sharing his vision for the future of technology and its impact on our lives. We then heared from industry leaders such as Dr. Clas Neumann, Senior Vice President and Head of Global SAP Labs Network, SAP China Co., Ltd., and Selina Yuan, Vice President, Alibaba Group President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International, about the latest advancements and innovative approaches in China’s ever-evolving business landscape.
The Innovation Stage featured presentations that delved into the future of e-commerce, the power of green mobility, the groundbreaking advancements of Jina AI, and future business scenarios. Meanwhile, topics covered on the Market Trends Stage included rethinking and reusing paper, embracing digital transformation, the potential of Industry 4.0, and building resilient supply chains.
In an engaging session, Patrick Kabasci from INC Innovation Center, presented on the topic of “Industry 4.0 and Beyond: Market Trends in Manufacturing Through New Technologies.” Patrick focused on leveraging new tech for optimal use, manufacturing-X, compliance regulations, sustainability, as well as Industry 4.0 implementation.
Hannes Farlock, Delegate and Chief Representative of GIC Hong Kong, then explored the future of resilient supply chains together with Bjoern Lindner, Managing Director of Schwarz Asia Pacific Sourcing Ltd., Andrew Hu, Vice President of Angelic Packaging (Suzhou) Co. Ltd., Jeff Tang, Founder & CEO of ODEA! Corporation, and Marshall Chen, Equity Partner at Fiducia Strategy Advisory. The panellists each shared their expertise as well as practical examples around diversification, AI and data in supply chains, sustainable practices, and organisational transformation.
